Need a dataline across that new parking lot?
Wirelessly connect your legacy serial device to 802.11!

Oranmore, Co. Galway, Ireland - You’ve just repaved the parking lot.  Now they want to move a production line to that building on the other side.  And of course those machines need to share data with your production control office.  Will you have to tear up that nice new paving, plus spend a bundle for trenching and cabling?  Ouch!

How about a wireless solution?  Mike Fahrion, Marketing Director for B&B Electronics says they have one for you in their new Vlinx™ wireless serial servers.  “Save the high cost of cabling, and your new pavement, by wirelessly connecting those machines’ serial ports to your Ethernet LAN.  The advanced 802.11/g technology we use in our new ESR wireless serial servers can easily carry data signals up to 100 meters.  You can connect up to four machines with serial ports to one transceiver and run at data speeds up to 54 Mbps.  They’ll handle RS-232, 422 and 485 serial devices.”

Fahrion continued that their new wireless converters are built for industrial applications, with tough metal DIN rail mount cases, wide range DC or AC power and 0º to 60º C operating temperature.  An external antenna connector allows optional antennas for greater range.

Pricing starts at under $400.  You cannot tear up and patch much paving and string much cable for that!
