Connect serial peripherals and boost speed with USB 2.0 Serial Adapters
Broaden the range of external peripherals used on your computer, with High Speed USB 2.0 to Serial Adapters. Give your laptop or workstation the ability to communicate between a USB port and up to eight RS-232, RS-422, or RS-485 serial peripherals. USB 2.0 is fully compatible with USB 1.1 devices. The older devices work with the new bus, and vice versa.
Adds COM port(s) via a single USB connection and is compatible with new and legacy RS-232/422/485 devices. This allows the product to be used in a variety of industries and applications including banking, retail and industrial automation where PCs have a significantly shorter lifecycle than the peripherals that use them. Other features include serial speeds up to 921kbps, large 1024-byte FIFO's, and hardware and software flow control.
The "IND" option is ideal for implementing USB-to-serial networks in factories, power plants and other potentially harsh industrial environments. Part numbers with "IND" offer surge suppression.
The "400" series models offer software-selectable Multi-Electrical Interface. The MEI capability is available on all ports, which allows each port to be configured as RS-232 or RS-422 or RS-485 independently. LEDs visually tell you which ports are using which protocol so feel free to mix and match.
The "EMB" family is similar to the standard product with the exceptions that no hoods are included with the product. These products are designed to fit into type spaces and be PCBD mounted. The EMB products all support the IND surge suppression feature.
All are configured with DB9 Male connectors and include a USB cable. |
