Ethernet Extenders
Extend your Ethernet infrastructure using existing copper wire or coaxial cable
Overview
Elinx Extenders extend your copper Ethernet connections up to
6200 ft. (1900 m) over a pair of unused straight copper wire or up to 8,530 ft (2600 m) via coaxial cable.
(Wires must only connect to the Elinx Extenders to work properly
and prevent damage). Two Elinx Extenders are required
for the Ethernet extension, (one at each end of your extension
points). Use stand-alone with included power supply (EIS-EXTEND
only) or use in EIS-RACK-16 (19-inch rack mount
chassis houses any combination of up to 16 EIS-EXTEND’s and
EIS media converters.)

- One 10/100BaseTX (TX) Ethernet port with RJ-45 connector
- Auto negotiation of speed and duplex mode on TX port
- Auto MDIX on Ethernet port
- Complies with IEEE 802.3 10BaseT and IEEE 802.3u 100BaseTX standards
- Auto senses the speed of 1/3/5/10/15/20/25/30/40/50Mbps (up to 85Mbps with EIS-EXTEND-C)
- Status LED’s for monitoring and connection status
- One DIP switch configures each unit for either local mode or remote mode
EIR-EXTEND only:
- Terminal blocks
- Redundant power input from 12-30 VDC
EIS-EXTEND and EIS-EXTEND-C only:
Use as a stand-alone device or with a 19-inch rack chassis
Hot-swappable when used in 19-inch rack chassis

Easy Setup
- Using two units, set one to local mode and the other to remote mode.
- Apply power (EIS-EXTEND and EIS-EXTEND-C include power supply; EIR-EXTEND requires a power supply).
- Connect your Ethernet devices to the port marked "Ethernet."
- Connect your copper extension wire to the port marked "Line."
